Our voice should give people the same impression, whatever country they’re in.

Everywhere we go, we speak Zalando. We’re always bold, fun and welcoming. And we’re always talking to Enthusiasts.

So we keep our voice consistent – translating, transcreating and localising the specifics – to sound local and stay on message across languages.

When, why and where we localise

Wherever we are, whatever the language, our brand and voice stay the same.

Each language has its idiosyncrasies. So we adapt content for our markets – keeping it on-message and on-brand.

Each market and language has its own voice guidelines, closely linked to our brand voice.

We work with external agencies who provide creative, on-brand localisation for all of the Zalando markets. There's more information on our localisation processes and suppliers on the Language Services zLife page (Zalando internal link).

We also review localised messages with a specialised quality insurance company. This checks that the localisation quality is up to our standards – including making sure the Zalando Brand Voice is applied everywhere.
